Most people would not dream of it. However many customers will entrust one of
the most important transactions of their life to unlicensed Estate Agents when
they are selling or buying a property.
Hailed by Housing Minister Grant Shapps
as a symbolic moment and a milestone in the history of the National Association
of Estate Agents, the new licensing scheme was launched in the House of Commons
on November 18th.
‘This is exactly the sort of measure the housing market needs, simple and
sensible changes that are driven by industry and designed to deliver results’
the minister explained. ‘Customers can now make informed decisions when choosing
their agent, by employing a licensed agent they can enjoy the trust of the
people buying and selling homes’
Hamble based Estate Agents the Art of Living are already ahead of the game with
over a third of their negotiators fully qualified and the remainder in
training. With the added security of knowing that they are the only local
agents who are members of ARLA (Association of Residential Letting Agents) and
the NAEA (the National Association of Estate Agents) they can be certain of
offering a first class customer service.
Branch Manager, Mark Armé, has welcomed the new scheme and said that ‘in the
future customers can ask the simple question to their agents, are you licensed?’
